CyPlus® PAL - Peroxide Assisted Leach

In cyanidation, an oxidant is required, since cyanide only complexes Au(I) to form the soluble gold-cyano complex and not the elementary gold usually present in the ore. In the case of unsufficient oxidant supply, the gold extraction becomes slow and inefficient.

We have developed a technology for agitation leaching, in which the conventional oxidants (compressed air and/or oxygen addition) are replaced by peroxygen compounds. When suitable proprietary control equipment is used, the CyPlus® PAL process can improve the plant performance by 

• increasing the amount of gold extracted
• accelerating the leach kinetics
• reducing cyanide consumption
• providing more stable plant conditions

This patented technology is attractive mainly for transition and sulphide ore types, which have been increasingly processed during the last years and are generally difficult to leach.
